structural dynamics
The underlying principles of Alisar Charting are derived from the work of Robert Fritz and the field of study that he created known as "Structural Dynamics". creation of structural thinkingThroughout his early career as a composer, musician and professor at The New England Conservatory, Robert Fritz was fascinated with the creative process -- how painters, musicians, and performing artists actually brought into being what they wanted to create. Although their disciplines were different, he saw that they followed a similar methodology, even though they were often unaware of the process they followed. He also found that while these artists were good at creating in their professional work, many were far less successful creating in other aspects of their lives. By the late-1970's Fritz had defined the key elements of the creative process and had begun to educate people in all walks of life on the applications of its principles. His best selling book, The Path of Least Resistance teaches how anyone can use this technique to create what they desire. During the 1980's and 1990's Fritz expanded his work to include the study of organizations, specifically why some continued to build success upon success while others oscillated between success and failure. He developed a structural consulting methodology to help organizations and individuals achieve and build upon their successes. Both the creative process and structural consulting are built upon the same underlying principles encompassed in Fritz's structural dynamics. Robert Fritz's work was included as a core discipline, by Peter Senge in his book, The Fifth Discipline, under the topic of personal mastery. In Senge's latest book, Schools That Learn, he states, "The work of Robert Fritz exhibits the hallmark of real genius: to take the most subtle and complex and make it clear, intuitive, and useful... Fritz is without a doubt one of the most original thinkers today on the creative process in business, the arts, science, and life in general. His work has deeply affected my life and the lives of many of my colleagues."
