Recession-beating NASDAQ company's success inspires revolutionary performance management software.

Scalable, browser-based online and offline tool helps Global 2000 company
achieve record performance and profits.

Orlando, Florida - January 28, 2002 - Alisar Corporation , a management software company specializing in workforce and individual performance improvement, announced today the release of a revolutionary software tool designed to reinvent corporate workforce performance initiatives. The company is showing its new product January 28-31, 2002 at Lotusphere 2002, a technology trade show that organizers bill as "the premier proving ground for the future of collaborative solutions."

The flagship product is Alisar ChartingSM , a software planning and management tool for aligning goals, resources, plans and actions. It works in concert with the company's training and consulting services to deliver a substantial increase in organizational performance and profitability.

"The combination of Alisar ChartingSM and our training and consulting offerings leverages the value of enterprise performance initiatives by providing a robust, unified solution," said Bill Brandt, President of Alisar Corporation.

Mr. Brandt is also the founder and Chairman of the Board of successful cabinet manufacturer, American Woodmark [NASDAQ: AMWD], guiding it from revenues of $30 million in 1980 to over $500 million today.

James J. Gosa, President and CEO of American Woodmark observes: "This process was the most important management tool we used in helping American Woodmark to become a growth company."

Plan for success, then act out the plan

Alisar Charting tracks and captures data related to all activities, resources and metrics associated with goal setting, planning and performance initiatives across an enterprise, and makes that information available to those who need it. This methodology paves the way for alignment of where the business is heading, where it really is now, and gives everyone a way to measure just how effective their daily actions are in moving the organization toward success.

This type of business analysis is critical to addressing goals, plans, people and resources in such areas as:

  • creating corporate strategic business plans,

  • developing a shared vision and clear courses of action,

  • monitoring performance and realigning actions and resources,

  • coaching individuals and teams to achieve their goals,

  • managing projects,

  • planning career paths, and

  • supporting complex business transformations.

Alisar ChartingSM is delivered online through a web browser making it a quick-start easy-to-learn, simple-to-use tool. Also available is an optional offline license for use when access to the Internet is not available. It provides full synchronization of data when back online.

Alisar ChartingSM is available to larger installations with IT departments as a client-hosted solution.

Alisar Corporation - Background

In 1980, Bill Brandt founded American Woodmark to acquire a small kitchen cabinet business. At the time, the business had annual sales of $30 million. In 1992 as Chairman and CEO, Bill attended a seminar conducted by Peter Senge, describing the principles of "the learning organization" as presented in his book, "The Fifth Discipline."

It was through this seminar that Bill learned of the work of Robert Fritz – ; work that was to have a profound impact on Bill, leading him to create an underlying management tool for American Woodmark based on Structural Dynamics and the principles from Fritz's book, "The Path of Least Resistance."

By the mid-1990's the process had become the basic methodology by which the company did work. The methodology was incorporated into the company's business plans, meeting management, scorecard measurements, and performance planning and assessment for individuals. The process enabled the organization to better create goals, focus priorities, align resources, monitor performance, and achieve desired results. According to Mr. Brandt, " Employees have found that they were successful using the process not only at work, but also in their personal lives-- at home and with their involvement in church, clubs and civic organizations."

In 2001, Mr. Brandt formed the Alisar Corporation to make popular the process that had served American Woodmark and its employees so well. Alisar Charting SM is only the first in a series of enterprise performance management services to help individuals and organizations prosper and grow.
